PORTRAITS: A SHARED GAZE
What is it to be a woman? And how do we present each other, and ourselves to the world?
How do we make visual our enduring connections of friendship, and intimacy?
These photographs are the expression of my female gaze as a photographer, but also represent the reciprocated gaze of the women being photographed. As such, they record a mutual encounter - women offering themselves in variable ways, as model, friend or lover, with the photographer capturing the essence of that exchange as artfully as possible.
I entrust them to you: a third gaze.
